YEAR OF THE WOOD DRAGON
Saturday, February 17, 2024 @ 1 pm EST
At the Center & on Zoom
Gather with fellow practitioners, in-person and remotely, as we welcome the Year of the Wood Dragon with a Drumming Circle! Together we will experience the resonance and joy of unity as we drum to a common rhythm and become more in tune with ourselves and others.
We will be guided by Natalia Perlaza, an experienced rhythmist who supports drumming circles to help build connections, spiritual exploration and healing. No prior experience or drum is necessary (bring a drum, bells, rattle or any percussion instrument you have). After our drumming, we will celebrate with a festive meal.
Wear something red!
Friends and family are always welcome.
If you are on our mailing list, you received an invitation with the Zoom link. Email us (infoATnanlaoshuDOTorg) if you need it sent to you again.
ABOUT NATALIA: Natalia Perlaza was born in the green rolling hills of Colombia and spent her childhood climbing under waterfalls, chasing chickens and playing echo with the mountains. She moved to America for college, where she was exposed to the art of belly-dance and the ethnic rhythmic beats that guide it. Her journey with the Egyptian drum began there, the instrument she continues to experiment with today.
During events, she adds a rhythmic live element to sets—spontaneously giving and receiving, playing with the crowd’s energy. She brings rhythm into her work as a visiting nurse, helping patients in hospice use sound waves as meditation.
